Deceiving Others or Yourself?

Cover your head, close your eyes or keep a beard….is this going to boost your religiosity? Is this what religion is all about? Is this what measures your piety?

Going a notch higher on the ‘piety’ scale is all that matters! But what we forget in the middle of this struggle to go higher is that Piety will be measured by the Lord and it should solely be ‘For’ the Lord. Creating perceptions of Piety in the eyes of the observers won’t give you anything but some acclamation by the spectators. He knows your heart, your intentions inside out! He will judge you on the basis of your intentionality rather than your pretentiousness. He will gauge what you think and feel before judging your actions.

You can keep two faces; one for the world and one for yourself, but for Him it’s the latter which matters. Not the manifestation rather it’s the insinuation which counts! Friendly conversations, commendations, adulations or helping gestures, nothing matters if the objective is to earn a certain reputation ‘only. Hypocrisy is a trait which can take you to places in this life and make you stagnant when it comes to afterlife.

It’s not about letting go off the thought of creating a reputation rather it’s about bringing your thoughts in line with your actions.

Many a times we try to purify our repute but what we forget is that pristine intentions are necessary for actually a good reputation in front of the Lord.  Our Lord gauges us on what we are not on the basis of what we look like.

We can manipdeceptionulate the way our friends see us but the Lord looks at what we actually feel inside. We can have a beard to deceive others but our sins and intentional sins are all like an open book for Him.

It’s very convenient for us to use words like ‘diplomacy’, indulge in gossips and backbiting and backstab others. No matter how skilfully we execute our small acts of treason and hypocrisy, we can’t escape the results in Afterlife.

I’m not saying that negative emotions ought to be displayed but rather I’m asking you to tone down your internal emotions. Tone down, think and try to set right your priorities. Try to set them in accordance with your goals in life; don’t deceive yourself and the world. If you think that afterlife is important and yet you indulge in this self deception, then you need to explore and reorganize your deeds and actions. Self deception is where you deceive the world with a religious image and actually stick to immoral motivations, but this won’t help. Calm down, reiterate what’s important and then decide whether it’s the Lord, the people and/or this world!

Earth…Mother Earth!

Small droplets of water…..on the surface of earth….how blissful, how serene!

You see the steam coming out of the earth, you feel the earth is melting and losing it’s heat.

Slowly, slowly, its losing the pain it was suffering from

You must find it hilarious that how can earth feel pain?

But I see the rain is putting off a burden from the earth’s shoulders

Earth was crying, suffering and sorrowful…I felt it’s frustration when I touched it’s façade

The scorching heat or the excruciating deeds…everything was hurting the earth

When the sun is burning, we hide under the shelter….but the earth its always there

We commit sins; we show our pride, thrash others and corrupt our souls….

God is watching, we might forget but there is someone else, who witnesses our crooked deeds

It’s the Earth, the Earth…..called as Mother by many….providing Shelter since Eternity…

Many a times, we cut off from people who break our hearts, But the Earth? It never cuts off from us just like our Lord

We were born here….and will end, buried in the arms of the Mother Earth

One day I lay down on the grass; covered with withered leaves, it seemed wilted….

My ears vibrated….was it my cell phone? No, it was coming from beneath the Earth!

The Earth, it was crying, as if  tired of all the wickedness it had seen

The sky screamed; seeing the Earth’s mourning, it started grumbling

Thunder and Thunder; the Air was angry…..It roared with anger and leaves started flying away with fear…

Terrified & astounded…A few drops touched my hands….like a medicine; Lord poured a Balm on the Earth…for the Earth

To relief it’s pain and to appease its aching body….Fresh droplets of serene water spread across the place

Oh Lord, You are great, how you blessed the Mother Earth with your peaceful surprise

Earth; who embraces us all…was finally embraced by the One Who made us all!

People with Faith…

Do you sleep well? Not in terms of time, neither in terms of quality of your bed or the size of your room….rather the peace of your mind! Do you sleep the sleep that the richest of the world wish for? Do you sleep the sleep which is the synonym for peace and serenity?

Hmm, well, I don’t know about you, but I always vied to look out for people who possess this precious capability of resting like a child…a child who is carefree, free of; tension, anxiety, jealousy and envy.

They work and exert effort equivalent to what the world pours in, they also ponder over things the same way as others do but yet when they rest they are like children. Children called as angels by some and sin free by others. These people are like children for the moments they sleep, talk and even walk pass by….but they are fully fledged adults when they commute, take responsibility, perform a task or analyze a matter.

You must be wondering who are these people I’m constantly talking about? Do they even exist?

Well, yes I have seen them, witnessed their peace and experienced their serenity. When ‘normal people’ are fidgeting, they calm us down….when normal people over-react, they are the ones to tone it down…. When they are pessimistic, they show us the bright side. They exist side by side; near every anxious shoulder there exists one pacifier who diffuses tranquility which supersedes the darkness around our souls.

When I pondered with my anxiety that what is it that they have that ‘normal people’ don’t? Is it their point of view? Is it their innate quality of remaining calm? Or is it that they have something that we don’t? The answer is may be a mixture of all of these questions!

After deliberating on the few such people I have met in my life, I can conclude that they have a different point of view. They can see the white which we miss out while pointing out the black.

They have something innate that we don’t, yes, they have the capacity to absorb shocks. When we are over reacting, they are scrutinizing, i.e. what they do and what we don’t.

Lastly, the answer to the third question I posed to myself was also clear… yes they have something which is not in us….they have something above us, above the human kind, something metaphysical. Yes! They have trust, trust in the presence of our Lord. Faith in the Lord that He is there and He is the One Who will Make things alright. So when they sleep, they sleep with the faith that someone will wake them up, when they face a problem they know that Someone will help them overcome it….And they don’t only say it with words like ‘normal people’, they say what they really Believe! May God Bless Them!
