Deceiving Others or Yourself?

Cover your head, close your eyes or keep a beard….is this going to boost your religiosity? Is this what religion is all about? Is this what measures your piety?

Going a notch higher on the ‘piety’ scale is all that matters! But what we forget in the middle of this struggle to go higher is that Piety will be measured by the Lord and it should solely be ‘For’ the Lord. Creating perceptions of Piety in the eyes of the observers won’t give you anything but some acclamation by the spectators. He knows your heart, your intentions inside out! He will judge you on the basis of your intentionality rather than your pretentiousness. He will gauge what you think and feel before judging your actions.

You can keep two faces; one for the world and one for yourself, but for Him it’s the latter which matters. Not the manifestation rather it’s the insinuation which counts! Friendly conversations, commendations, adulations or helping gestures, nothing matters if the objective is to earn a certain reputation ‘only. Hypocrisy is a trait which can take you to places in this life and make you stagnant when it comes to afterlife.

It’s not about letting go off the thought of creating a reputation rather it’s about bringing your thoughts in line with your actions.

Many a times we try to purify our repute but what we forget is that pristine intentions are necessary for actually a good reputation in front of the Lord.  Our Lord gauges us on what we are not on the basis of what we look like.

We can manipdeceptionulate the way our friends see us but the Lord looks at what we actually feel inside. We can have a beard to deceive others but our sins and intentional sins are all like an open book for Him.

It’s very convenient for us to use words like ‘diplomacy’, indulge in gossips and backbiting and backstab others. No matter how skilfully we execute our small acts of treason and hypocrisy, we can’t escape the results in Afterlife.

I’m not saying that negative emotions ought to be displayed but rather I’m asking you to tone down your internal emotions. Tone down, think and try to set right your priorities. Try to set them in accordance with your goals in life; don’t deceive yourself and the world. If you think that afterlife is important and yet you indulge in this self deception, then you need to explore and reorganize your deeds and actions. Self deception is where you deceive the world with a religious image and actually stick to immoral motivations, but this won’t help. Calm down, reiterate what’s important and then decide whether it’s the Lord, the people and/or this world!

Music: ‘admiration or veneration’

Music gives us life and melody brings soul to it. Melody is everywhere, in the drizzling drops or the rustling autumn leaves, in the honking cars and in the heartbeat of each and every human. Music is the only medicine which takes humans into a trance like state. A state in which all one can see is the pictorial illustration of the lyrics and all one can feel is the rhythm with the thumping beat.

No wonder, music has become an essential to loosen ourselves from the daunting and hectic lives of today… and this ‘urge for music’ has given rise and power to the singers of today. Internationally ruling the charts and hearts of people, these top celebrities in fact have the strength to make or break a notion!

Songs, give birth to notions and every celebrity rises with a humongous fan following of his own ‘style’. The fandom these days reaches the pinnacle where people literally worship the stars. These celebrities inspire and instigate the youth with their lavish lifestyles, provoking thoughts and exciting messages. Their thoughts, messages either open or subliminal are accepted since the youth is too naïve to object. Further elaborating naïve, these ‘devotees’ actually start living in the trance which the music and celebrity creates. Neither understanding the meaning nor the true significance, they just follow, proving the extremity of their ‘ fanaticism’,

Now, focusing on the youth of Pakistan, where are we in this queue of this blind veneration?

We are the top!.. Totally intimidated by the celebrity power our youth has actually lost the power to understand before adoring. With complete adulation, our youngsters vouch to completely follow the footsteps of the foreigners. Each and everyone of us has a crush on one of those hot stars and we tap to their music. Rock, pop, R&B, soul, country, jazz etc. you just name it and even children will name the top most stars of these genres. But do we understand that how strong the impact of this devotion has been on our minds? Do we get the meaning of the song before putting it up as a status of facebook?

No! we don’t and infact we don’t pay a damn to such useless thoughts. Life is here and life is today! This is what we believe, but is this what our norms, values and religion has taught us? Our religion has treated this world only as an exam to pass for the world hereafter. Imagine an exam where we all know the answers taught us by the Almighty Allah, but still only a few etch the right steps to clear it. This is what we all do, we all know the answers but we seldom ponder because we have been brainwashed by the messages taught and conveyed to us by these celebrities.

Let’s, take a look at our lives now. Every girl wants to be ‘Material Girl’ and every boy wanders saying ‘It’s my life’. Awe struck by the ‘Good girl gone bad’ trauma we all want to be bad. We put black nail polishes and cat woman outfits to just copy the bad attitude and style. Every teenager sings ‘toxic’ and ‘piece of me’, without realizing that this is not what we were meant to be as Muslims and as Pakistanis. Listening to songs like ‘seduction’, ‘pump it’, shut up and drive’..we have transformed from the great humans to useless commodities which might appeal but seldom inspire.

We all want to be rockers, studs, hunks, hotties but do we ever desire to be the best person? Have we ever thought about those who gave birth to us?..No! When we don’t even think about the Almighty who created the world then why would we care about our parents? We say life is too short to be unhappy, so let’s have fun. But do we realize that life is also too short to make the Lord happy, so let’s start from today. Our minds have been jumbled and our focus has been busted. Our attention is only diverted to the present and we have forgotten about the judgment day. Thinking all day long about money, fame and fortune we rarely think about the values, norms and morals. With boys doing their maximum to cheat, disobey and be wild, do they actually become the shoulder of their old parents? And girls fishing for the attraction from the opposite sex… do we in fact gain respect and reverence anymore from the society? Our nation built and rendered as the representative of Islam..Will it survive the map with this level of indecency?

This article could go on for pages and pages, but bringing it to an end, the only thing I’d like to point out is that it’s high time to start thinking before we lose it all as a nation!

The Satan

Well, one of my friends told me about ‘ the Satanic artists’ and their devilish attempts to swindle us from the world hereafter and delude us into the ‘present’. I simply said ‘ its lame’ and of course we moved on in our discussion.
But this idea somehow made its way in my subconscious; somewhere it touched the right cords of my conscience. It just popped up in my mind whenever I used to get free, so I decided to verify whether its really lame or not?
I did a little research, went through the basics of the Egyptian one and all seeing eye God ‘Re’ and the pharaohs. We all are familiar with the ‘symbolic’ languages called hieroglyph used by the pharaohs to depict and store their history, which Europeans claimed to conquer and decode through the ‘rosetta stone’. But doesn’t it appear senseless that the only thing they couldn’t decode was the pyramid? Yes it’s senseless because it’s not the truth, not at least what I believe now!
The whole story is very difficult to explain through a small article but the most interesting part is the ‘one eyed God Re’ behind the one-dollar bill. How did the same pharaoh God appear behind the one-dollar bill standing pompously next to the picture of George Washington? Doesn’t this sign directly show the relationship between the pharaohs and the American government? These all questions at least for a second make you quiver because of your own ignorance; ignorance about the signs the ‘Allah almighty’ blessed us with, ignorance about our own existence and ignorance about the individuality that we keep chanting about. Allah gave us signs of the Anti-Christ or Dajjaal and gave us a brain to ponder upon those. But did we use that brain to interpret those signs? No, In fact we channeled our energy to defy those, we saw things but we ignored them because for our existence they all are meaning or material less. In our search of ‘individuality’ we lost our wisdom, our true competence to construe, our capacity to comprehend and all we are left at the end is hunger for material and thirst for more!
We live for the moment; we want things done without even registering the effort, easy life, money and luxury is all what we all craving for. This slackness, which entered our lives centuries ago, is here to stay, here to rot our souls and perish our ability to critique. This slackness didn’t enter our minds miraculously rather it entered through a game played by the masterminds behind that one-dollar bill. Have we ever noticed the taglines of the famous brands we use everyday? Let’s look at some of those. “Consider IT Done – Syntel, The power to be your best – Apple Computer, Life’s Good – LG, Just do it- NIKE, it’s the real thing-Coca cola” . These are some of the most famous taglines in the world, but have we ever looked at them closely? They all mislead us to a world which doesn’t exist, they excite us, provoke us to live the moment, remember the present and just do it. But indirectly what they imply is the fact that we abandon the life hereafter for the urge to get the real thing today. We don’t realize this because we’re so dependent on the system that these people run that we have become ‘inert ‘ not capable to interpret anything. I don’t know whether to commend the mastery of the people running this system or to mourn on our own unawareness.
‘Dajjal’ the one who will come and mislead the world with its one eye, will it come or has it already arrived? In Arabic the meaning ‘Dajjal’ is the one who covers the diseased with a sophisticated cover, who presents the rotten as the freshest, in short the one who hides the truth behind its delusions. Now look again at the aim of our lives, at the taglines guiding us to live the moment and just do it. Aren’t we ignoring our eternal life for the sake of today? Can’t we interpret this as the hidden truth or agenda behind the masterminds who have been playing with us for centuries? In fact, they have taken us as puppets, inculcated all the diseases of innate hunger, restlessness, and deceit in our souls and subdued our conscience subliminally.
Now the question is how did we become puppets and how did their network used our subconscious to misguide us. One of their ways is the use of ‘arts and artists’; they used the most precious gift of God to humanity to humiliate the humans. Arts let it be music, dramatics, poetry, stories, illustrations or paintings, it takes humans into a state where it’s just their subconscious which takes over. The creativity is beyond borders of practicality and anyone barely thinks concretely before watching any arts piece. That’s the reason why these people used arts to transform our gullibility into futility. They promoted the message of ‘ keep smiling’ and took us into a world, which excited us. A world, that took us away from our real responsibilities and was full of dreams and aspirations. Once we got into that world, it was very difficult for us to accept the reality and brutality of our real world. So we decided to live in that trance and closed our eyes for the reality. We see the famous celebrities wearing those smiley-faced shirts, living in palaces, having everything that they desire with no flaws; neither physically nor materially. They deliver the messages of these masterminds; they tell us to just shut up and drive, they take fierce entourages to provoke us and deviate us from the real aim, with their perfect lives they inspire us to be like them and that’s the whole aim. Because once we are like them, they have achieved their goal to make us a part of their system and transformed us into ‘puppets’. We try to copy their style, wear a black skull tattoo, smoke cigarette, think over our sexualities, abuse others, indulge in corruption and in short do what so ever since it’s now or never!
Songs like shut up and drive, whose gonna run this town tonight, good girl gone bad, young forever, life is an open road, womanizer, material girl, infectious, what you see is what you get, naughty girl, buttons, beautiful liar, umbrella, single ladies, erotica, frozen, pussy money weed, I want this forever etc. All just by their names show the trivial delusion created to trap the humanity in their desires. These and many other artists use their deadly looks, gifted voice and ‘the mastermind’s materialistic support’ to misguide us and tear us apart from the truth behind our existence on this earth. These artists intentionally or unintentionally sell out their souls to the masterminds and help them in making us reliant on their system. They have used us and will keep on using us if we don’t wake up for our true individual and collective aim i.e. the life Hereafter!
Next time when you wear a smiley faced shirt or transfer a song to your ipod….think, interpret and understand again!
